When we returned from Bangkok in August 2016, we decided to live in the expat ghetto in District 7, Phú Mỹ Hưng, for a change. We stayed for 11 months. Wide clean suburban streets, no street vendors, lots more cars, malls and international schools. It has some negatives too (flooding, proximity to the city dump, distance from downtown, rush hour traffic) but overall it was a good move.
Long promenade with shops, one story above street level, connects all buildings in the Sky Gardens complex. The distant buildings are the 3rd phase. In the far far distance you can see Bitexco Tower in District 1.
Our furnished apartment, Building 1, 9th floor. Very clean, quiet.
Bath with outside breezeway for washer, drying.
Bedroom. Second bedroom across the way was just storage.
Bedroom looking to kitchen
Waiting for the management company to come for inspection, and return our $960 deposit.
Travel bags for our 8 month stay in Bangkok. Three checked bags (< 53 kilos) and four carryons (two at 7 kilos each, plus laptops, cameras, handbag stuff is free). Pretty sure we will need to buy another checked bag for the return, clothes shopping is so good in Thailand.
