Thai mourning period and black clothing
Thais are in a mourning period for one year from the date of the King’s death Oct 13 2016. There are shrines and funeral bunting everywhere; the citizens dress in black. Soon they will come out of the mourning period.

There are a couple of sidewalk trees on Soi Rang Nam at a motorbike taxi stop that get special care. Someone has wrapped the trunks with vining plants. They have been like that for over a year.
